RESEARCH GRANTS
  • Health Services Research and Development Grant in 1986 by the Commonwealth Department of Health to fund the audio-visual film "Infection Control in Dental Practice".
  • 1988 Iain McKenna Research Travel Fellowship of the Westmead Hospital Dental Officers Association for the study entitled "Acceptance of Hepatitis B Vaccination by Sydney Dental Practitioners". 
  • Associate Investigator for a National Health & Medical Research Council project by Dr. C. Hamilton, Professor J. Denham, Dr. P. O.'Brien, Department of Radiation Oncology, Newcastle Mater Hospital; and Professor W. Dorr, Germany, for a unique research project commencing in 1996, for five years, entitled "Mucosal Cell Density and Kinetic Changes During Radiotherapy" investigating cellular regeneration in human mucosa during radiotherapy in oral cancer patients.
  • Award of a 2009 Department of Defence Army History Research Unit research grant on the dental and oral surgical aspects of the Kokoda Track Campaign of 1942.
